Alex Garbutt was born and raised in the small fishing village of Monkey River. He started fishing at a very young age with his family. Alex is self-employed as a commercial fisher, he has been fishing for conch, lobster and fin fish for the past 20+ years.

Alex was introduced to our Executive director, Dr. Rachel Graham, in 2006 and has been working with MarAlliance since its inception.  He has a strong appreciation for the work that MarAlliance does because he enjoys being out on the water and learning about the fish population in the area where he works.
