Rosita

Wah di gwan? I’m Rosita, a beautiful Caribbean reef shark from the beautiful waters of Belize. Life’s great here, but lately, overfishing and habitat loss have been putting sharks like me at risk.

Last year, I had a surprise when researchers from MarAlliance tagged me to keep track of my travels and ensure my safety. Now they can keep tabs on me to ensure I’m staying safe.

Thanks to efforts like MarAlliance’s work, there’s been progress in shark conservation, but we still need your help. Ready to dive in and protect sharks and our reefs?

Barnacle Bob

Hey there, I’m Frankie Ford, a male sea turtle from the vast MesoAmerican Reef! Unlike the ladies, I spend my whole life swimming in the open Ocean, always exploring new horizons. But rising ocean temperatures, ghost nets, and disappearing habitats are making life challenging.

Last season, what I thought was trouble turned out to be a surprise! Researchers from MarAlliance scooped me up to tag my shell with a satellite tracker. Now, they can follow my adventures and keep me safe as I travel the oceans - and you can track my journey too on their tracking page.

There’s still work to do to protect sea turtles like me, and that’s where you come in! Ready to help?

Mira

Hi there! I’m Mira, a manta ray cruising the beautiful waters of Cabo Verde. I love cruising through the Ocean, feeding on plankton, and exploring coral gardens. But life isn’t always easy. Bycatch in large purse seine fisheries and pollution are just a few of the challenges we manta rays face.

Last year, I had an unexpected adventure! While splashing around, some friendly researchers from MarAlliance tagged me with a tracker. It was a bit of a surprise, but now they can follow my travels and learn more about how to protect me and other manta rays.

There’s still work to be done to keep our Ocean home safe, and that’s where you come in! Ready to make a splash and help protect manta rays like me?
