From an early age, Nelly developed a strong interest in Information Technology, which later led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at the University of Belize (2017–2021). While her studies covered a wide range of IT fields, she discovered a particular passion for Creative Digital Arts, especially in Web Development, UI/UX, and Graphic Design.
Throughout her academic journey and beyond, Nelly has gained experience working as a Web Developer, Technical Support Specialist, and Graphic Designer. Although she does not hold formal academic training in Graphic Design, she has made it both a personal and professional mission to teach herself the skills she now applies daily. She continues to expand her knowledge independently, keeping up with emerging trends in design and digital marketing. Her long-term goal is to formalize this self-taught expertise by completing professional certifications or pursuing a degree in Digital Marketing and Management.
As the newest member of the Communications & Outreach Team, Nelly brings her creativity and technical expertise into the service of marine conservation. She is eager to translate her skills in digital design and communication into impactful storytelling that highlights the importance of ocean protection. With curiosity and dedication, she approaches this new field as both a challenge and an opportunity to grow, while contributing fresh perspectives to the team’s mission.
