Yaily Nadir Castillo, BSc

Research Officer, Guna Yala

Yaily is from the Guna Yala region, Panama, she holds a degree in Sanitation and Environment, from the Technological University of Panama. From a young age, she aroused interest in how environmental conservation and science issues have a positive impact on youth and children.

Since 2010, Yaily is an active member of the NGO CENDAH (Center for Human Environmental Development), where she is in charge of Environmental Education.  Since 2019, she is an active volunteer for MarAlliance, where she conducts educational workshops on climate change, solid waste and mangroves, at the Guna Yala region schools and to fishers. She has had the experience of working at the Smithsonian as an assistant in investigations and monitoring of mangroves and seawater quality.
